Kayleigh Roy

Kayleigh Roy (K. A. Roy)

a writer of horror (and sometimes romance!) from the suburbs of Chicago. Mother to humans and cats, horror enthusiast across all mediums, and a music and gaming hobbyist.

Kayleigh’s childhood was spent moving across the globe, though her home base (and heart) will forever call Chicago home. The first book she ever wrote was about her hamster, Binx, who lived far longer than hamsters ever should, which was just fine with her. She began to gravitate toward the horror genre after sneaking downstairs and watching a certain famous clown rip through the tiles of a shower, and soon after bore witness to clowns that grew from popcorn and cotton-candy-ified humans to feast on. You can guess what her biggest fear was for the next decade.

Now, she likes to blend her love of horror with her need for women-centered stories in the genre, where she explores the complexity of relationships, found family, and what makes life worth living.

Outside of writing and reading, Kayleigh is an avid gamer, attempted language learner, live music enthusiast, and weightlifter. She can’t wait to have a garden one day, but her green thumb will probably kill everything anyway, so she focuses on the things she has successfully kept alive so far: her three small humans and three cats.
